GILROY – Congratulations to Rams men's soccer head coach Ivan Bastida on earning his first career Gavilan College head coaching win. The Rams defeated visiting College of the Siskiyous by a final score of 2-0 on Wednesday.
"Ivan has come in and taken the reins with our men's soccer program," said Gavilan College athletic director Jamie Adams. "His leadership has already resulted in a strong start with his first college win. I have been extremely impressed with his ability to connect with our student-athletes, improve our gameplay, and lead the team to victory. Ivan is a great asset, and I am very excited to see him continue to grow our program!"
On Wednesday, sophomore Davi Prado and freshman Leonardo Herrera both scored for Gavilan while the defense played solid for the shutout.
Gavilan is now 1-2 overall and is back in action on Friday (Sep. 13) when the Rams host Yuba College in a 4 p.m. non-conference game.
