
Rams earn 4 All-Coast Conference postseason honors
Following the close of the regular season, four members of the Gavilan College baseball team received All-Coast Conference South Division postseason awards.
Freshmen Rickey Wilkerson (INF/OF) and Jacob Gilbreath (OF) received second-team honors while freshmen pitchers Mason Pound and Wyatt Barton were both named honorable mention.
Wilkerson, out of Christopher High School, led the Rams with a .290 batting average. He totaled 36 hits, 9 doubles, 2 home runs, and 17 RBI. He compiled a .429 on base percentage thanks to a team-high 23 walks.
Gilbreath, from Santa Teresa High School, was second on the squad with a .288 average. He led the Rams with 44 hits, 10 doubles, 3 home runs, and 27 RBI.
Pound, from Westmont High School, had a team-best 4.66 earned run average and ended with a 4-7 record. He made 20 appearances, starting 11. Pound led Gavilan with 82 strike outs over 83 innings.
Barton, out of Hollister High School, started 13 of the 15 games he pitched. He struck out 64 batters over 77.2 innings and compiled a 3-7 overall record.
The Rams closed the 2025 season with a 9-31 overall record and went 4-16 in the highly-competitive Coast Conference South Division.
